Can I substitute ingredients in your recipes?
Absolutely! Experimenting with ingredients is part of the fun in cooking and baking. While I may not be able to reply to every question about substitutions, I do my best to update the recipe notes (found below the recipe title) if I’ve tried any ingredient swaps or variations. Be sure to check there first, and the comment section is often filled with helpful feedback from others who’ve made successful adjustments. So, feel free to get creative—and let me know how it turns out!
What cookbooks do you recommend?
I don’t have a massive cookbook collection, but I do have a few go-to favorites that I absolutely love. Some top recommendations are The Cook’s Illustrated Cookbook, The Cook’s Country Cookbook, and just about any of the America’s Test Kitchen books (30-minute Meals, The Best Skillet Recipes, Quick Family Cookbook). I also adore The Joy of Cooking and King Arthur Flour’s Baker Companion. In addition, I subscribe to two fantastic magazines: Cook’s Country and Cuisine at Home—both are packed with great content!
Can I repost one of your recipes on my blog?
Yes, sharing is what blogging is all about! I just ask that you include a proper, clickable link back to my website. Thanks in advance!
Can I use one of your photos on my blog?
Unfortunately, I’ve had issues with people removing my watermarks and using my photos without permission, which is really frustrating. Because of this, my general policy is to not allow the use of my photos. However, if you run a reputable, non-spammy site and send a polite email asking for permission (and a little dark chocolate never hurts!), I might say yes. The key is asking first—it’s the outright theft that makes me a little cranky.
