Ingredients
  

Salad Ingredients

  • 4 heirloom tomatoes sliced
  • 16 oz buffalo mozzarella sliced
  • fresh basil leaves whole

Seasoning

  • 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbsp aged balsamic vinegar optional
  • sea salt to taste
  • freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Slice the heirloom tomatoes and buffalo mozzarella into even slices. Lay the slices on a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
  • On a large platter, alternate the slices of tomato and mozzarella in a circular pattern, slightly overlapping each slice. Tuck fresh basil leaves between the layers.
  • Sprinkle sea salt and freshly ground black pepper over the tomatoes and mozzarella slices.
  • Drizzle extra virgin olive oil evenly over the salad.
  • If using, drizzle a small amount of aged balsamic vinegar over the top.
  • Serve immediately, garnished with extra basil leaves if desired.

Notes

For the best flavor, use tomatoes that are at room temperature rather than chilled. Consider using a variety of heirloom tomatoes for a colorful and visually striking presentation.
