Equipment

  • Baking Sheet
  • Blender or Food Processor
  • Knife
  • Cutting Board
  • Gloves
  • Measuring Cups

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 ghost peppers, halved (use gloves; remove seeds for milder heat)
  • 4 ripe Roma tomatoes, halved
  • 1 small red onion, quartered
  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1 tsp salt adjust to taste
  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the tomatoes, red onion, and garlic on a baking sheet and roast for 15 minutes until softened and slightly charred.
  • During the last 5 minutes of roasting, add the ghost peppers (wear gloves) to lightly char them.
  • Allow the roasted ingredients to cool slightly, then transfer them to a blender along with the lime juice, salt, ground cumin, cilantro, and apple cider vinegar. Pulse until you achieve your desired consistency.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. For best flavor, refrigerate the salsa for at least one hour before serving.
  • Serve with tortilla chips, tacos, or your favorite dish for a fiery kick.

Notes

Always use gloves when handling ghost peppers. Adjust the number of peppers to suit your spice tolerance. Let the salsa rest for optimal flavor blending.
