Ingredients
  

For the Burger Patties

  • 1 lb ground beef (preferably grass-fed)
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • salt and pepper to taste

For the Toppings

  • 8 oz cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese full-fat, preferably aged
  • 4 large lettuce leaves or keto buns for serving

For the Sauce

  • 2 tbsp keto-friendly mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • ¼ tsp smoked paprika optional, for a smoky flavor

Instructions
 

  • In a large bowl, mix the ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Form into 4 evenly sized patties.
  • Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 4–5 minutes per side until cooked to your preferred doneness.
  • In a separate skillet, heat olive oil or butter over medium heat. Add sliced mushrooms and sauté for 5–7 minutes until golden and tender.
  • During the last minute of cooking the patties, top each with a slice of Swiss cheese and cover with a lid to melt.
  • Mix the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and optional smoked paprika in a small bowl to create the sauce.
  • To serve, place each patty on a lettuce leaf or keto bun. Top with sautéed mushrooms and a drizzle of sauce. Serve hot.

Notes

For added flavor, mix some finely chopped mushrooms into the burger patties. Lettuce wraps help keep it crisp and keto-friendly.
