  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup milk
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp chili powder
  • 1 cup homemade BBQ sauce Blend of tomato paste, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and a pinch of cayenne
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, onion, garlic, egg, milk, smoked paprika, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  • Form the mixture into evenly sized meatballs (about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter).
  • Arrange the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 15 minutes.
  • Toss the meatballs in the homemade BBQ sauce and return them to the baking sheet. Bake for an additional 10 minutes until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
  • For an extra smoky finish, finish on a preheated grill for 2-3 minutes per side.

Notes

Do not overmix the meat mixture to maintain tenderness. Use a meat thermometer to ensure proper cooking. These meatballs can be prepared ahead and reheated. Adjust spice levels by adding red pepper flakes if extra heat is desired.
