  • 1 Granny Smith apple, cored and chopped
  • 1 cup fresh spinach leaves
  • ½ frozen banana
  • ½ cup frozen pineapple chunks
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tsp freshly grated ginger
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • ½ lemon, juiced
  • 1 tsp honey or maple syrup optional, for additional sweetness

Instructions
 

  • Soak the chia seeds in almond milk for 5 minutes to form a gel-like consistency.
  • In a high-speed blender, combine the soaked chia seeds, almond milk, chopped apple, spinach, frozen banana, pineapple, grated ginger, and lemon juice. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  • Taste the smoothie and adjust sweetness by adding honey or maple syrup, if desired. Blend briefly to incorporate.
  • Pour the smoothie into a glass and serve immediately. Enjoy!

Notes

For a creamier texture, add more frozen banana or reduce the liquid slightly. To increase protein content, add a scoop of your favorite protein powder.
